Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of dseclabs.xyz (the “Site”), operated by Decentralized Security Labs (“DSEC Labs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By visiting the Site, reading our research, or submitting the contact form, you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and any organization you represent. We may update these Terms from time to time as described in the “Changes” section below, and your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

2. What this Site is

The Site is an informational and publishing platform for Decentralized Security Labs, trading as DSEC Labs, an offensive-security firm established in Spain. It describes our services, publishes technical research and write-ups, and lets you contact us. The Site itself does not provide security services, create any client relationship, or grant any authorization to test systems. Any engagement between you and DSEC Labs is governed by a separate written agreement, including scope and rules of engagement, and those terms control in the event of any conflict with these Terms.

3. Eligibility

The Site is intended for businesses and professionals. By using it you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement, and that your use complies with all laws that apply to you.

4. Permitted use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access and view the Site and its content for your own informational, non-commercial purposes and to evaluate whether to work with us. You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts of our research with clear attribution to DSEC Labs and a link back to the original page.

5. Prohibited use

You agree that you will not, and will not attempt to:

  • access, test, scan, probe, or attack the Site or its infrastructure outside of an authorization we have given you in writing (a responsible-disclosure report is welcome; see the “Security reports” section);
  • disrupt or degrade the Site, for example through denial-of-service traffic, automated scraping at scale, or circumventing rate limits or security controls;
  • reverse engineer, copy, or create derivative works of the Site’s code or design beyond what these Terms allow;
  • use the Site or its content for any unlawful purpose, or to infringe the rights of others;
  • misrepresent your identity, impersonate DSEC Labs or another person, or submit false information through the contact form;
  • use the contact form to transmit spam, malware, or unlawful, harassing, or infringing content.

6. Research and educational content

Our blog and research describe offensive-security techniques for education and for defensive and authorized testing purposes only. Nothing we publish is an invitation or authorization to attack any system. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have explicit, written permission before testing any system, and for complying with all laws that apply to you. Decentralized Security Labs is not liable for any use of our research against systems you are not authorized to test.

7. Intellectual property

The Site and its content, including text, research write-ups, diagrams, code samples, graphics, logos, and the “DSEC Labs” and “Decentralized Security Labs” names and marks, are owned by Decentralized Security Labs or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited permission in these Terms, we grant you no right or license to our content, marks, or design. Code samples published purely to illustrate a technique may be used for your own learning and authorized testing, but the surrounding text and materials may not be republished as your own.

8. Security reports

If you believe you have found a security issue in this Site, we want to hear about it. Report it to us through the contact form, give us reasonable time to respond, and do not access data that is not yours, degrade the service, or use the issue beyond what is needed to demonstrate it. Good-faith research reported this way is welcome and will not be treated as a breach of these Terms.

9. Third-party links and services

The Site links to and relies on third-party services, such as our GitHub, our publication on Medium, our profiles on X and LinkedIn, and the providers that deliver the contact form and host the Site. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, terms, or availability. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

10. No professional advice

The content on this Site is provided for general information only and is not professional, legal, or security advice for your specific situation. It may be incomplete or out of date, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for a scoped assessment. For advice about your systems, engage us or another qualified professional under a written agreement.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain what data we process and why. Please do not submit sensitive or confidential information through the contact form; a scope-limited, NDA-backed channel is set up before any engagement.

12. Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that its content is complete or current. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Decentralized Security Labs and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Decentralized Security Labs and its officers, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use or misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

15. Governing law and disputes

Decentralized Security Labs is established in Spain. These Terms are governed by Spanish law, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Spain have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence where they apply.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes to the Site, our practices, or the law. When we do, we update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the Site after that means you accept the revised Terms.

17. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Decentralized Security Labs regarding your use of the Site.
